NEFESH CORE

Nefesh Core are a Dark/Gothic rock band born from a David Brown and Ghigas’ idea. After more than 10 years of metal productions, early in 2018 both friends decided to start a new band that was inspired by the sound of 80’s New Wave and Dark Music movement. Soon Ivan Newton joined forces as drummer of the band.

Nefesh Core immediately appeared in its typical features: merging metal with modern rock, creating a new vision of dark music. Even though they kept writing most of the keyboards, guitars and bass lines in the end, Nefesh Core were cooperated by Michele “Moky” Cavallaro on guitars, for the studio recordings of the first album. Late in 2018 they released their first videoclip and single track, Another Break To Life, showing Nefesh Core typical dark mix and sound.

The band wrote the remaining songs and arrangements along 2019. entered Tower Hill studios (Italy) and committed the overall mixes to Luigi Scuderi. As the mixes were completed, early on 2020 they committed the album mastering to Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Amaranthe, Pyramaze). So the debut album “Getaway” was born: 10 tracks of mature and inspired dark heavy rock, with massive electronic influences coming from the glorious New Wave musical movement which the band takes references by. In the years between 2021 and 2022 the band released two more single tracks, “Dove il mondo non c’è più”, a dark rock version from the original song by Francesco Renga, and “Walls of Time” a new and unedited song, as the band was enriched by the entrance of Bob Brown as guitar player.

Late in 2023, Nefesh Core splitted by former drummer Ivan Newton. and Andrea Marchese has been chosen as new drummer on October 2023. On February 2024 Nefesh Core released a new song: “Lullaby”, revisited version of the original song by The Cure, taken from the awesome album titled “Disintegration” (1989).
